Solanum lycopersicum L.
Fruitful, historic variety that has been on the market since 1896 and has medium-sized, platy, grooved tomatoes.
Relatively robust plant with high yield and good aroma. The historic variety is named after an Italian town near Palermo and originates from Sicily. Falsely, it is often written on the internet that the variety is the same as the "Johannisfeuer", although there are morphological differences. These were already described by Lehmann in 1955 and they have also been genetically proven by the University of Gießen in 2019.
